WordPress Free SSL Certificate
Bluehost offers “WordPress Free SSL” with 256 bit encryption to its clients but as the name spelled out, it is limited only to WordPress websites.
Once WordPress is successfully installed, an email will be sent to the site owner that the SSL Certificate will be valid for 3-month. It will be auto-renewed every 3-month, “forever free”.
For websites that are “secured”, you would see a green lock at the left hand side of the url.
In Bluehost, after installing WordPress, you may confirm whether the site’s SSL is activated by login to Bluehost account. Once you login, at the top menu click “WordPress Tools”. You will be re-directed to a WordPress Tools’ page. At the left side of that page click “Security”. From there you would able to see if the “Free SSL Certificate” is turn on for the site.
You can also use whynopadlock.com to validate the website whether the site is fully secure or otherwise.
